Immediate Pain Relief With Sacroiliac Joint Injections
The sacroiliac (SI) joint is located in your lower back and connects your sacrum to the rest of your hips on either side. Therefore, you have both a left and a right SI joint. Inflammation and/or dysfunction of the SI joint may cause pain.
The purpose of an SI joint injection can be either purely diagnostic or therapeutic or both. Often times, we will accomplish both at once to provide you immediate and efficient relief. The amount of immediate pain relief that you do or do not experience tells us whether or not your pain source is your SI joint. As with our other injection services, we utilize X-ray guided assistance to accurately direct both our numbing and steroidal agents into your SI joint. Immediate pain relief is a result of the numbing medication that we use while continued relief is an effect of the steroid.
"I have been Dr. Chen's patient for many years now, and I'm very pleased with the friendly staff & their expertise in pain management. As far as I am concerned, Dr. Chen not only is a top-notch professional in pain management field, but also a very kind & compassionate person. He always makes me feel that I'm getting the best treatment around. His physical therapy dept. always runs a tight ship too, both really complement each other. Best of all, I always feel like I'm treated like part of the family - they always include me when they have special celebrations or functions, too. I would highly recommend everyone to pay a visit to his office."
